I've picked out a few items from Net-a-Porter that have turned out to be Tibi, and I've always been drawn to their careful balance of dressy/casual and masculine/feminine. The black skirt is 215 from Net-a-Porter and epitomises their consistent look. Florals are always bold but never overbearing, as in the dress on the left from their Spring 07 collection. Designer Amy Smilovic adheres to the "casual chic" test. "If an outrageous silk jersey dress doesn't look incredibly smart with a little leather jacket, then the design goes straight out the window. I love details and frills on my skirts, but they've got to pair wonderfully with a tiny tee or the outfit doesn't work for my lifestyle," she says. I'm moving towards a more classical style of dress at the moment, but I don't want to look like my dad's girlfriend (this happened three days ago, in a charity shop. Awful!) and Tibi's designs seem to cater precisely for this.
