Top Five: Deep Purple

Deeppurple

I know we have a lot of purple fans out there in Shiny reader land and why not? It's a colour that can take you from jewel-toned winter knits through to the palest pastel summer dresses. Today I'm focusing on a range of garments with the one colour theme: deep purple...

I couldn't help but give you a good helping of pretty frocks in this feature, given the party season is upon us, but I also wanted to include a few dressed-up tops for the more casual seasonal events you'll be attending.

Sashes are so popular this season, on tops, dresses, cardis - you name it! On the left, the black waist tie of this shimmery dress from Wallis (£45) perfectly offsets the purple. Want an extra splash of colour? This printed satin dress by David Meister (reduced to $120) has a rather tropical motif to ward off the winter chill. On the right, nab a Ben de Lisi creation at a High St price - just £100 for a very flattering cocktail dress with buckle detail. If you don't need to totally frock up, try a pretty top from Laura Ashley (top, £35) or FCUK (bottom, £50).
