Tesco to Sell Clothes On Line
Altogether now: YAY! Back in October 2005 we were complaining about the lack of online clothes shopping from the likes of Tesco and Asda, but now our prayers have been answered - well, in Tesco's case at least. They've just announced a multi-million pound investment in their fashion lines, which will allow them to produce a clothes and home ware catalogue and, most importantly, to try selling their fabulous, cheap-as-chip fashion online.
Tesco will also be following in the footsteps of Asda before them by creating special "stores with stores" focusing solely on clothes. Did I mention they'll also be selling the clothes online? Gone are the days of forcing my long-suffering boyfriend to drive me around every Tesco in the country in search of Chloe-style dresses and cheap cashmere. Now I will be able to buy it my very own self, with just the click of a mouse.
Tesco are being annoyingly vague about the date for this transformation, and say only that the online sales will launch "next year" and on a "trail basis". So you know what that means, folks: if we want it to become a permanent feature we'll have to make sure it's a success for them. I know I'll be doing my bit...

Can't wait, I wish Asda/Matalan/Primark/New Look would follow in their footsteps, stat!
