Lookit this young lady - what pretty feet she has! All the better to sell tyres with, you see - or so Goodyear thought in this advert from days gone by. A range of other such retro advertising images will be going on show this month at London's Museum of Brands, Packaging and Advertising, which will be taking a look at how fashion creeps into the advertising of everything, from skin cream to cream crackers. The images go all the way back to Victorian times, and show similar young ladies showing off the fashions of their times in a bid to sell, sell, sell. The exhibition runs until February 28th, and includes a display of fashion magazines from the last two centuries - worth going for that alone, I'd say...
