Philo Comes Out of Retirement?
This is just a rumour for now, but apparently Phoebe Philo is designing a range for Gap. Philo resigned from her role as creative director for Chloe last year to spend more time with her young family, but it seems that she cannot. Gap sources wouldn't confirm if Philo was designing for them but told WWD: "We've been working with a number of external design consultants since we moved the design team to London this summer. [...] The only one we're talking about publicly is Roland Mouret." This is quite exciting news, as Philo pushed Chloe even further into the style stratosphere after Stella McCartney's departure. If she is indeed designing clothes for Gap, even if they're only as half as good as her designs for Chloe (see above), they will still be worth a look!
