Marks & Spencer have been pretending to be real designers this week, holding a special catwalk show to preview their Spring/Summer '07 collection. OK, so they're a bit slow off the mark(s) with this - the real designers previewed their spring/summer collections weeks ago - but there's a lot of buzz about Marks at the moment, and word has it that the next collection will be a good 'un.
Just like proper designers, and following in the footsteps of H&M and Target, M&S chose to close their show with a wedding dress - a £120 wedding dress, which will be available in store next year. We're still waiting for pictures of the rest of the clothes, which apparently included Pucci-style dresses, a gold brocade coat and other designer-like pieces. So, are you impressed with the way M&S have turned themselves around, lately? I am: and while I doubt we'll see the kind of Viktor & Rolf-induced hysteria that H&M inspired earlier this month, it looks like Marks could well be one to watch.
