Fancy buying a Paul Smith design for £35? Or a little something by Manolo Blahnik, maybe? Well, the good news is that you can do just that - but before you get all excited, we're not talking shoes and clothes here, but postcards. Ah.
Blahnik, Smith and MacDonald are amongst a group of artists and designers who have contributed postcard-size works of art to The Royal College of Art, in London. So you can own a Manolo design for £35, but there is a catch - and I'm not talking about the fact that you won't actually be able to wear it. No, this is a far bigger catch: the postcard designs are part of the RCA Secret exhibition, and all have been donated anonymously. Yes, you can buy one - but no, you won't know who actually created it until you unwrap it. Spoilsports. You can see the postcards at the RCA website, and hey - if you find yourself bored over Christmas you can always indulge in a quick game of "whodunnit". (Or "who designed it", rather....) Is that pink shoe a Manolo, or did he go for something a little less obvious?
