There's been a bit of buzz recently about the high prices on the high street. Shops like French Connection and Topshop have come under fire for being out of reach of most high-street shoppers. I suppose you can't have it both ways, we do have some of the best catwalk copies and originals on the UK high street but I have to admit to window shopping 9 times out of 10. This is why I've decided to scour the high street and find you some high-street bargains so you can look good and eat!

First things first, Dorothy Perkins is a god-send to those on a budget, £40 for their grey peacoat is pretty bargainous for a wardrobe staple, and this nehru collar dress is only £25 and looks very flattering. They also currently have an amazing knitwear range, my favourite is the v-neck in a  lovely raspberry colour. Mango are another chain that stock some great value items like this coffee 'Clooney' jumper only £25. You can sometimes pick up cheaper items from Miss Selfridge like this dress, reduced to a mere £7, its more of a summer dress but would look just as good under slim grey trousers and a long-sleeved t-shirt.
