I often get weird fashion obsessions in my head, sometimes they turn into fully fledged trends, but usually they disappear without a trace. My current favourite is Lost In Space, yes that US series from the 60's! Above is the cantankerous Dr Smith with his robot; if you were too young to catch this imagine "Happy Days" in space. Think tunics, flat boots, metallics... How bang on trend is that? (ahem!) Check out my pick of the best space-age fashions after the jump.

Teamed with skinny jeans or leggings and a groovy tunic from Miss Selfridge for £35 even extraterrestrial lifeforms will be jealous! Wear metallic flats like these Amelia silver pumps from Office that are only £25, with opaques from Topshop in Kingfisher (£4) and this glitzy mini shift also from Topshop (£55) for a more dressed up space age look.
