British Fashion Awards: And the Winners Are...

Giles_deacon

Well, the lines are closed (Note: not really. It's not that kind of vote), the votes have been counted and verified, and we can now reveal that the British Fashion Designer of the Year is... Giles Deacon!

Yup, Deacon came out top at last  night's British Fashion Awards, at an event that contained not too many surprises. Kate Moss, for example, walked away with the Model of the Year gong, but we're not going to talk about that because, well, you see enough of ol' Cocaine Kate already, don't you? Vivienne Westwood, meanwhile, was named best Red Carpet Designer (and deservedly so, I think), while Marios Schwab is Best Newcomer. Look behind the jump for a full list of the winners.

(Oh, and the dress at the top of the page? A Giles Deacon creation, from his Spring/Summer 2007 collection. Not Giles himself, obviously.)
