Balenciaga Sell Leggings for $100,000

Balenciaga_7 Oh dear. Looks like Balenciaga missed the memo about leggings, then, and how most of us still wouldn't wear them, even if we were paid to.  Not only are Balenciaga still expecting us to pay them for their leggings, they're expecting us to pay rather a lot - $100,000, in fact, for a pair just like the metallic gold ones they sent down the runway as part of their Spring/Summer 07 collection. One. Hundred. Thousand. Dollars. And they're not even real gold. (Yes, I'd expect real gold for that price.)

In Balenciaga's defence, the leggings in question are made to order, which must be a bit of a pain for them, but even so, it seems like a lot of money for an item of clothing that the fashion world still can't seem to find a consensus of opinion on. Some of us love leggings,  and some of us loathe them, but I for one will be very surprised if any of us are willing to pay $100,000 for them...

Are you sure they are not made out of gold? Then the price would make sense. Reading this article the price only registered properly after you spelt it word by word. Until then my brain was reading it as $100.

From what I've read, they're fabric with gold-coloured metal plating stiched over the top, arelia, although if they are real gold, then yes, the price would make more sense!
