Are You Paying Attention At The Back?

Never having a school uniform means that as you get older you find yourself drawn to grey pleated skirts, neat shirts and striped scarves to find yourself dressing like Madeline. So whilst most of you might be groaning, hopefully this uniform-chic outfit will have the hippies, the foreigners and the homeschooled sighing into their screens! I love this Paul Smith skirt (£235) from Net-a-Porter, the pleat details are a grown up allusion to girlhood days and the colours on the belt are gorgeous. To match the belt, tuck in this Topshop v-neck jumper, a snip at £18 compared to the skirt. I absolutely adore these ladylike retro 'Lulu' shoes from Monsoon for £40, pair with Topshop opaques in Burgundy (£4). See after the jump for outfit.

No scholarly outfit would be complete without a beret, £12 from Accessorize and try eBay or charity shops for the finishing touch, a stripy vintage uni scarf; I've got a quite a few they look great and are really warm.

Heh, I've just started wearing my dad's old Peterhouse scarf for walking to school-it coordinates perfectly with my blue school jumper.

  • Thanks ladies! Those shoes tug on my heartstrings like a baby or a kitten does because they're so perfect. I love the gentle curve and sensibly small heel. If I hadn't just bought 2 pairs of boots and a pair o' shoes...

Ah, a comfy-looking pair of heels with just the right mix of conservative-meets-cutesy, great for the office and for weekend shopping trips. Not only do they match my personality, but they also share my name. Truly, a pair of shoes after mine own heart. It was destined to be, I say! If only Monsoon shipped to Canada. ~pines~

  • Words can't describe how much I want that skirt. Trust me to fall for the most expensive item, though :/

    Another great outfit, Isabelle :)
