When I lived in New York for a while the only tv station I could watch showed Everybody Loves Raymond, Reba (a country star turned chat show host) and endless repeats of Friends. I wish I could have been there to catch 'Ugly Betty' the new ABC show which debuted as a pilot on the 28th of Sept.
It centres around Betty, a young girl who is hired to work on 'Mode' magazine as a PA to the boss' son because she is the only person in New York who the son wont sleep with (stlll with me?!). I'm sure it will feature loads of general fashion cattiness and high jinks, and with an assortment of bithcy fashionistas and crazy family it sounds like a genuinely good piece of television, can we swap with Eastenders please?! Based on "Yo Soy Betty La Fea" a Colombian telenovela that became an international phenomenon. I prefer the original Betty, (on the right) she looks wonderfully awful!
