French Dressing

Petit_bateau The beauty of online shopping is that we can shop France without ever having to leave our soil or keep down a snail. Whether you think the french are the queens of chic or perhaps that they just stink of garlic, there's no harm in taking a peep at their clothes. Rather biarrzely, French women apparently get their basics not from Gap like the rest of us, but from a children's shop called Petit Bateau. They now do adult sizes due to high demand but the image of many a french woman trying to squeeze into an age 8 children's stripy top still amuses me somewhat. Luckily it's not all children's shops, check out Handbag.com's French chic directory for more.

I love love love Petit Bateau! Their plain white knickers are the best and they do great plain vest tops and t-shirts. There's one on the King's Road I always try and visit.
