Roland Mouret for Gap

Carmenkass Oh thank you, God, thank you, thank you! You have taken pity on a poor, impoverished writer and seen fit to get one of her very favourite designers working for... The Gap. Yes, the Gap - they of the beige cotton combats and smiley, dancey adverts - are to launch a new line designed exclusively by none other than Mr. Roland Mouret, in his first venture under new label 19RM. No, I can't quite believe it either.

Mouret will create ten dresses for the chain, all priced between £45 - £78, with three of the designs made for Gap's (PRODUCT) RED collection, meaning that 50% of the proceeds from each sale will go to the Global Fund to Fight Aids, Tuberculosis and Malaria.  "I was interested in the opportunity to make my designs available to a wider audience," said Mouret. YES! The designs will go on sale in the UK and France from November 7th. If you want them, though, you'll have to get there before I do...

Roland Mouret for Gap - Comments

Apparently this collection will only be available in France and the UK - lucky us, for once! But no doubt eBay will be awash with overpriced offerings from opportunists if you're despereate for one, Val. Catwalk Queen: any leads on when they'll be releasing images of the actual 19RM range?

There are a few Viktor & Rolf designs for H&M floating around now and these rival collections are both due out on 7 November. Can't wait...

  • Cool! Though I must say Gap has some pretty nice stuff already, their not completely bad.

  • I'll try and find out for you, Val. The announcements yesterday were focusing on the UK, but I'll see if I can find anything on the US...

So will the collection be coming to the States?
