Yay or Nay Wednesday

Ynjacket
When I spied this jacket the other day it went straight to the top of my wishlist. I would happily dress like a Christian Dior 'New Look' model every day if I didn't think people would stare at me, and this look really harks back to that late 40s style (without the price tag - I'll reveal the surprise home of this look next week). The nipped in waist adds curves where most modern women don't have them, and bracelet sleeves are perfect for early Autumn. So regardless of what any of you say, the top half at least gets a big fat Yay from me. But what about the rest of the ensemble? The pencil skirt, the black ankle boots, the red beret? Is the modernised version of late 40s Paris chic floating your boat, or does she look like she raided the dressing up box and forgot to change her shoes? Yay or Nay and why?

[Don't forget to vote at Trashionista, Bridalwave, Corrie Blog Kiss and Makeup, The Bag Lady, Shoewawa and Shiny Shiny too!]

ps. Last week's lime green dress was £40 from Wallis.

Skip the beret and maybe try one of those new equesterian-inspired hats instead? love the boots, but maybe not with this skirt, it feels too heavy. Yay from me!

Yay! I love that opaque tights are back! I'd only skip the beret, but yay!

YAY. yay. yay. yay. I LOVE all of it! although it would almost be too much gray if it werent for the hat

  • Nay - this outfit just doesn't do anything for me. I'm not sure I'd be able to walk past someone wearing this outfit without thinking 'Huh?'

Nay - the skirt is too long and it looks like it is a horrible fabric (don't know if it is) needs better lining all round to hang better and look more retro
