Topshop Moves to America

26896_1 Topshop is reportedly looking for space to build its first store in the US, after being told this week that they're free to use the Topshop name in the States.

The group has spent the past few months embroiled in a legal battle with Nevada Apparel Corp, who claimed to own the trademark to the name. That claim was quashed in court this week, leaving the UK's finest free to begin its assault on the US.

Topshop will start off small (if you can call between 60,000 - 90,00 square feet "small", that is), with just one store - similar to the flagship Oxford Street store - on American soil. Just where it will be, though, remains a mystery, with owner Philip Green letting slip recently that the presumed front runner, New York city, may not be his first choice. Will Topshop be coming to a town near you soon? We'll keep you posted...

Hey topshop! Build in Des Moines! It's centrally located, right?

Okay, so it's centrally located in the middle of nowhere. I have to wonder if anyone but midwestern people know where Des Moines is... Hmm...

Chicago? That would be nice. Even though it's still ways away. Or Minneapolis!
