How To Wear: Leggings in Winter

I'll tell you a secret. After all my ranting and raving, I eventually gave in to the lure of footless tights. I'm still not at the point where I can wear them under everything I own like some girls I spy around London, but they're actually quite useful on days when it's a bit too hot for tights but you want to wear a dress and forgot to shave your legs. And once you've done the footless tights, you may as well go the whole hog. Don't get frightened when I say this, but leggings are the obvious next step. As it gets colder, swapping footless tights for leggings provides more warmth and means you can keep wearing all your mini skirts and dresses in the depths of Winter. Just think of them as a tights alternative, but better because they don't ladder, they don't dig in your waist and mean you can still wear thick socks under your boots.

Don't believe me? Try these outfits for size...they hardly look like leggings!

  • definitely issa - that's why all this season's tunic tops and 60s smocks are brilliant, they hide all that area and allow you to wear something more clingy on the bottom without revealing your cellulite to the world!

    I'm not a chubby girl by any means, but I have a really curvy body -- including curvy legs! So my calves are just huge! I can't get my legs into most boots, let alone tucking my jeans (or any other pants) INTO my boots. I resorted to buying capri pants/jeans, which work like a charm! But the leggings would work just as well for me. However... does anyone else feel uncomfortable with a tight and comparatively thin material clinging to the crotch and butt area, totally exposing you to the judgmental eyes of others? Hah... ^_^;

    I'm not a leggings fan either,since I'm a curvy girl but seeing those made me think of buying one, and only one to try one outfit.
