Time for more swimwear picks, and today the theme is Pucci. Or Pucci-esque, at least, for those of us who can't afford the real thing. The design house best know for swirly, psychadelic prints is enjoying a bit of a revival at the moment (not that it ever truly went out of fashion) thanks to the 60s revival and the appointment of Matthew Williamson as the new womenswear designer. It's no surprise that the high street has cottoned on, and there are swirls-a-plenty all over the shops.

I've always found Matalan surprisingly good for value swimwear, and they do great mix-and-match ranges. Their abstract print comes in everything from a convertible bandeau tank (great for belly-conscious) to tie-side briefs, and the matching kaftan is good for covering up in the heat of the day to protect your shoulders. Prices per piece range from £3 for bottoms to £8 for the kaftan.

Now for the US alternative...

These babies come from Hot Kiss and have even more of a Pucci-like feel to them. Even better, they're in the sale! One-pieces are just as stylish as bikinis this year, and can often be even sexier, especially when they've got cut-outs and ties like the one on the left. It's $49.99 and from the back it looks just like a bikini. If you prefer a more traditional shape, the bikini on the right is great for flattering curves without being boring. Adjustable ruched sides on bottoms are really useful, and the convertible top can be worn a number of ways. The top is $32.99 and the bottoms $29.99.
