Liz gets the chop - Kelly Osbourne to host Project Catwalk series 2

Lizcatwalk_1

Great news for those of you found Elizabeth 'don't call me Liz' Hurley mind-numbingly awful when she presented Project Catwalk earlier this year...she won't be back for the new series. Rumour has it the producers thought she was a bit wooden on camera (no?! Really?) and have chosen to replace her with another 'sleb who also appeared (fleetingly) in series one. Sadly, it's not our new favourite model Erin O'Connor, but Kelly Osbourne! It'll be interesting to see how our Kel copes with the rest of the judges, especially if Julien MacDonald is back for another round of bitching. I smell a catwalk cat fight!

Sorry Liz, but fashion has no mercy.

Liz gets the chop - Kelly Osbourne to host Project Catwalk series 2 - Comments

  • Kelly is as animated as a corpse, so Lord only knows how bad Liz was.

Replacing Liz with Kelly is a joke...plain and simple. Kelly has done nothing to prove that she has knowledge in fashion. She's young and inexperienced. I can't see how any of the contestants will be able to take her seriously.

  • Liz

I'm not too sure about Kelly, I guess I'll reserve judgement on her. I'm not sure that she will make Project Catwalk seem any less amateur in comparison to Project Runway than it already does, but then that was mainly down to the ridiculous lack of experience and skills of most of those on the British show. I think the US show is seen as a much bigger deal and attracts some fairly talented people, I certainly couldn't imagine a second year fashion student such as Matthew getting anywhere near the last 3 over there. I did enjoy the first Catwalk series but I really hope they get a better set of UK designers this time around. It'll be nice not to have endless mentions of the Tresemme hair salon and the L'oreal make up studio and the Macy's Accessory Wall anyway.

I thought Liz Hurley was ok, but only because she was amusingly good in comparison to US mirror Project Runway presenter Heidi Klum who (because she's a major monitary contributor) is still presenting in the third season.

I wonder if Kelly will continue to use "fashion has no mercy" or get her own little kick out phrase... ?

    Exciting stuff.

I never had a problem with Liz Hurley, at all. It was the freaking lack of focus on the designing aspect of- well- fashion design, and the completly unnessicary announcer that drove me up the wall. I understand announcers are fairly common in reality shows (I have been told espically in Britian- I wouldn't know though offhand, being non-British and I don't really watch much TV outside of Project Runway) but the CONSTANT recapping of needless things, instead of seeing the dresses being made, drove me crazy.

I also would much rather see Ben De LeaveTV go away before Liz.

    But hey! That's just me.
