Alexander Mcqueen Skull Scarves

Pirates of the Caribbean 2 is out soon (July 7th), and although you'd think you’re more likely to watch it to gawp at Captian Jack Sparrow than for style tips, it seems pirates are pretty fashionable these days…

The skull scarf has been tied, knotted, or slung over pretty much every star you can name (Sienna, Nicole RichieAshley Olsen, Lindsay Lohan and Johnny Depp himself of course!). The stars may covet skull scarves by Alexander Mcqueen and Thomas Wylde, but skulls are going mainstream, not only on scarves, but shoes, tees and anything else you fancy really.

ASOS are on trend as ever with skull scarves in two colours for a mere £10, or visit stars' fave Shop Intuition for a black and white version for a slightly more pricey $110 (centre).

Skulls and crossbones can also be spotted on pastel coloured Chloe tees (£98.01 - ouch!), Rocketdog pumps (£30) or Jet’s black tanks for a bargain $34 (as worn by Paris Hilton).

I'm not really a fan of those scarves now that everybody has one - even Primark sell them now!

The 'Mary Kate' picture is actually of Ashley, I think.

I LOVE skulls!!! I'm a total skullaholic and have them in every item imaginable, from tees to shoes, earings, etc. I just love them so I'm glad they are back, but honestly, when have they ever been out? ^o^

love the mcqeen scarves - i've had one tied to my bag for 6 months now and i can't imagine life without it!

I think the scarves are pretty hot but don't you think it's not a little to expensive for a scarf ?! those scarves are gonna be out next season ... how about creating your own cool fashion acessoire instead of always wearing what the stars wear ...

A cheapie store called Rue 21 also has the scarves in black and white for about $12.99. I just bought my sister one. =) She has tons and tons and tons of cute skull kitsch, including some Claire's Ashlee Simpson line jewelry which sports many skulls. And it's much more affordable than $110.

I'm not saying i dont like the scarves but they are ridiculously expensive for a scarf! I also dont consider them a "must-have". Why is everyone focused on the same hollywood chick pack all the time ( paris, nicole, lindsay, the olsen twins, sienna)....who cares what they are wearing! I guess if they had feces smeared across thier face, people would want that too. God people...find your own style.

just wondered if the only place you can buy an official Alexander Mcqueen scarf is in one of his boutiques or are they sold anywhere else?
thanks

The pastel top is lovely, but the other items are too much in my opinion.

i bought my "no-name brand" skull scarf at Charlotte Russe store for $5.99. It looks just like the originals and they have a lot of different styles/prints/colors.
