It's almost Oscar time! This Sunday (5th March) sees the biggest night on the Hollywood calendar, as the A-list put on their posh frocks and get ready to celebrate the best in cinema. If you're interested in the actual awards, TV Scoop has all the, um, scoop. Here at Catwalk Queen, we're more interested in the clothes, because we really are that shallow. All week we'll be taking a look at past Oscar fashion moments (and mistakes) and predicting what the first ladies of film will be wearing when the 78th Annual Academy Awards hit our screens. To start, we've got Oscar winner and best actress nominee Charlize Theron...

Charlize1Over the past few years, Charlize has strutted along the red carpet in a succession of Dior by John Galliano frocks, following a turn in Gucci at the 76th Academy Awards when she scooped the Best Actress gong (left). It would be safe to predict she'll go with Dior again this year (if it ain't broke, don't fix it) and it wouldn't surprise me if her dress wasn't another light coloured affair. In the past she's worn lemon, baby blue (see below) and nude on the red carpet, so perhaps it's time for white? That said, the Spring 2006 Dior Couture collection had a very dark, gothic influence, so perhaps she'll surprise us all in deep cranberry - a more wearable version of this, perhaps?

Whatever she goes for, it's safe to say Charlize will look stunning. She's one of the few stars who has looked flawless on the red carpet since the beginning of her career.  Don't you just hate her?
