Stripetop
If you're a fan of all the Roland Mouret inspired 40s style dresses but don't think a) they'll suit you or b) you'll wear one enough to justify buying it, Dorothy Perkins have come up with the solution with their range of tops in the same style. They're made from a light stretch jersey rather than the heavy (and easily creased) stretch cotton of many rivals, and come with a skinny belt to cinch in at the waist. The striped version above is £20 online, and in shops you can also get it in red with while polka dots, or plain black for £18. Wear it with a pencil skirt to emulate the look of the dress, or team it with tailored trousers, jeans or shorts for a more casual look.
