I’m always running late, so anything that saves me a little time in the morning is a welcome addition to my make up bag. The Ruby and Millie I-powder pen is rapidly gaining cult status amongst all of my friends after I was bought one for a present. The key to the pen’s universal appeal may lie in the well thought out colour combinations or the fact that it makes applying shadow totally foolproof. The main reason for my love is that you can apply it really, really quickly. Despite being in the form of a pen, the colour goes on like a powder and the built in applicator means there is no mess or fiddling around with a brush.

For perfectly sultry eyes like Keira Knightly, use the brown and bronze pen and you honestly can’t go wrong. Colour your eyelid in the bronze colour, then run the dark brown colour round the outer edges of your upper and lower lash line. Finally use the bronze end to blend the colours together and highlight the inner corner of your eye. Eyes worthy of a film star in under a minute.

If your still short of time, my other morning weapon is Batiste Dry Shampoo – if you have no time to wash and restyle, then spritz this white powdery spray into your roots and brush through, and voila, you’ll have newly non-greasy hair in seconds. So there you have it, enjoy your extra ten minutes in bed and still look fabulous. [Charlotte Howells]
