Wrap Up Warm

In case you hadn't noticed, it's freezing cold outside, which is the perfect excuse to accessorise with some great gloves and scarves. If you coat is plain (which I bet it is) don't be scared to experiment with some colour and texture in your winter warmers. Here's my favourite finds.

Free people have some gorgeous pieces that use colour in some really interesting ways. The retro snowflake patterned fingerless gloves ($38) have great kitsch appeal and remind me of the stuff I used to wear as a kid. The loose, shawl-like 'open crazy shawl' is pricey at $98 but would look fab draped over a funnel necked coat or thick knitted cardi.

Over at Urban Outfitters, which is always one of my first stops for interesting, colourful accessories, there are some gorgeous scarves for $28 each (they're also available in-store in the UK for about £25). The velvet ribbon-threaded sequinned scarf will keep you warm and look stylish, while the crinkly multi-strand chenille number is a real talking point.

Finally, the UK high street is also choc full of great buys. Accessorize is the obvious choice, with loads of choice, including the sparkle multi yarn long scarf for £20. I also make sure to nip into M&S for great scarves. The gorgeously bobbly 'poodle loop' scarf is a bargain at £15.
