Little Black Dresses

Everyone woman needs a LBD. They're classic, timeless, slimming and eternally chic. But they don't have to be boring. Here's a few of the most beautiful little black numbers out there, from feminine frills to bubble hemmed designer dresses!

H&M are always great for cheap chic Christmas party frocks, and they've outdone themselves with the tie-waist dress on the left for only £14.99. For something a bit more young and flirty, Additions have approached the velvet trend a la Juicy Couture with their strapless babydoll, another great bargain at £21.

If you have a little more to spend, the high street faves have some wonderful LBD's in stock. flatter your curves with a jersey wrap dress (£35 at Topshop). Over at Miss Selfridge, there's a great 50's prom style satin dress with a bow on the back for £60.

Feel like splashing out on something designer? Try Marc by Marc Jacobs' pink-trimmed bubble hemmed satin shift for $380 at Net a Porter. If you can't quite push to that, try my favourite Designer at Debenhams. The sequin bust chiffon dress from Star by Julien MacDonald is £85.

Finally, our pals over the ocean don't have to miss out. Nordstrom has a great LBD section on their website, and Windsor is also a great place to find evening dresses. I also love Free People's crinkly tiered dress for a more bohemian look ($148), and the range by Isaac Mizrahi for Target, especially the 80s retro frilly hemmed silk faille shift dress ($44.99).
