Don't pretend you're not a fan of The O.C. I'm old enough to know better, but I still find myself addicted to the lives of those over-indulged Californian rich kids (and I think Adam Brody is rather attractive, which helps). The show has such a cult following among, um, over-indulged rich kids, that fashion brand Necessary Objects has created a whole O.C wardrobe for those wishing to look like Marissa, Summer and Co...

The puff-sleeved sweater ($48) is probably the best item in the collection, and if you have the guts to give it a go it would look great with a velvet waistcoat. Beware if you have breasts though, this is a look for boyish bodies only. The classic white shirt has been given a twist with 3/4 sleeves and tuxedo detailing ($58). Wear it under a millitary jacket with jeans and boots.

For your bottom half, The O.C look is apparently gaucho pants ('gaucho' is new fashion-speak for cropped trousers). It's a look that's notoriously hard to pull off  (especially if you're petite) and from our experience, men tend to think crops are just normal trews that have shrunk in the tumble dryer, but if you fancy your chances the black pair are $78, as are the striped pair. Wear them with boots for day and heels for night.

The items are currently only available to US buyers via Amazon Apparel, but never fear, foreign fans! There's nothing particularly unique here, and you'll probably find similar looks on the high street this season.
